  • Tri CLE offers a triathlon, duathlon (run-bike-run) or aquabike (swim-bike) over 3 distances. There are relay team options as well.

    Super Sprint - 250M swim/ 8 Mi Bike / 1.8 Mi Run

    Sprint - 750M swim / 12 Mi Bike / 5k Run

    Olympic - 1500M swim /24 Mi Bike / 10k Run

  • To change your race distance, visit the Transfer Page by 11:59 PM on Monday, August 13, 2026, to complete your transfer. Participants may be charged a difference in the race cost (if applicable) and a Processing Fee.

  • The Race Directors elect to sanction the race through USAT for various reasons. The largest being a defined set of rules to guide athletes to ensure a safe and enjoyable race. USAT also provides insurance coverage should an incident occur.

  • Yes, a USA Triathlon membership must be purchased to register for the race.

    When registering, you will be prompted to enter your existing membership number or purchase a membership. There are various offerings, from a one-day pass to larger memberships. The pricing varies and is controlled by USAT.

  • Yes, Participants can have someone else pick up their race packet & drop off their bike. However, the person picking up the packet must have a copy of the athlete’s ID and written verification from the athlete that the individual picking up the packet is authorized to do so.

  • Tri CLE has a no refund, no bib transfer policy.

    Should I not be able to race, I can receive 75% of my entry fee credit toward the 2027 Tri CLE Rock Roll Run event. I understand to receive this credit, I have to contact Customer Service by Monday, July 31, 2026. Email customerservice@rockrollrun.com.

    (The 2027 credit cannot be rolled over to a future year. It must be used for the 2027 race)

  • All athletes need to have the following in order to race Tri CLE:

    • SWIM - 1 pair of swim goggles

    • BIKE - Any bike the athlete is comfortable riding, is in good working order, and meets USAT guidelines. A certified bike helmet (check to make sure there is a sticker inside stating CPSC, ATSM, EN1078 or Snell).

    • RUN - A pair of running shoes

    OTHER SUGGESTED ITEMS: Appropriate attire, a bottle or two of water, sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, and any nutrition/food you plan to consume during the race.

    Fancy and expensive equipment is not necessary!

  • It is not mandatory to pick up your packet or drop off your bike on Saturday, August 15, 2026. However, it is highly suggested. This will allow you to get familiar with the race layout and make race morning less stressful.

  • Results will be available at kiosks in the finish line area and on our Race Day App provided by our timing company. The app will be available for download at a later date.

  • Yes a combination of Cleveland Metroparks police and private security keep watch over the race site 24/7 from when set up begins to post race including overnight.

  • There are no specific time cut-offs; however, there are timing details to be aware of.

    • The bike course will open to vehicle traffic as soon as the course is clear of athletes.

    • The race closes at 12:00 pm. Any athletes on the course at that time will be asked to move to the sidewalks and paths. Athletes can continue at their own risk and will not be supported by staff and volunteers.

    • Music, announcements, and the finish line celebration will stop, and site breakdown will begin at 12:00 noon.

    • If the water temperature is up to 78°F, wetsuits are permitted, and participants are eligible for Age Group Awards.

    • If the water temperature on race morning measures between 78.1°F and 83.9°F, the race will be wetsuit optional, and athletes who choose to wear a wetsuit will not be eligible for Age Group awards.

    • If the water temperature is in this range and you choose to wear a wetsuit, you will start after the non-wetsuit swimmers.

  • Yes, Tri CLE takes water quality very seriously and works with the Northeast Ohio Sewer District to test water quality during the week leading up to the race. Should quality be unsatisfactory, athletes will be notified either before or on race morning. Should the swim be canceled, the race will become a duathlon.

  • No! Absolutely no audio devices are allowed on course. Cell phones are permitted for data tracking only. Use of a phone for making/receiving calls/texts, taking photos, and playing music is strictly prohibited and could result in disqualification.
